| Lindley Williams Hubbell–Ikuta Editions Available From Ahadada Books! |
Not listed yet on the Ahadada Books website, but soon to be, are the great editions of Lindley Williams Hubbell’s poems from Ikuta Press, sold and distributed by Ahadada. Hubbell was a wild man fallen from the moon when he landed in Japan in 1953, took Japanese citizenship, and never went back to New York City. A real talent from the generation of Hart Crane, a friend of Gertrude Stein, and much admired by Weldon Kees, Hubbell essentially buried himself in Post-W.W. II Japan. Yoko Danno was his prize student, whom he taught to write with the luminosity of H.D. She in turn established Ikuta Press to publish her teacher’s work. We have hard-bound copies of Hubbell’s Trilogy that are real collector’s items. Other works too. Queries welcome. Find out about Lindley Williams Hubbell!
