Good News–Progress
December 22nd, 2008 by Jesse Glass

Jonathan Monroe’s collection of prose poems and Alan Halsey’s new collection of great work have gone to press at Ahadada East. Michael Heller’s collection of two novels and Don Wellman’s book of poems are–thank God,–almost set up as POD publications. Eileen Tabios’ new book is in process. Unfortunately, Dan’s time constraints are tightening, which means that there will be fewer on-line chap-books. If we have already accepted an on-line chapbook from you, and it has not appeared yet, then please expect an “Emergency Edition” offer (see below). We continue to go our asymmetrical way as a press. If one option doesn’t work, non-traditional ways of publication will be resorted to. All in the name of getting the right work out to the right readers.

Announcing Ahadada “Emergency Editions”–Think Stein’s “Plain Editions” or City Lights
December 20th, 2008 by Jesse Glass

With hard times upon us, we at Ahadada books have decided to expand our operations by creating our line of “Emergency Editions” of experimental poetry and prose. These chapbooks and books would be perfect bound and nicely edited, but published mainly by subscription–(subscribers will be listed in the front of the book)–and distributed in the same manner as our other books. They would, however, be closer in feel to City Lights editions of “Howl,” “Gasoline,” etc., in that they would be printed on cheaper paper using soy ink. We would like to expand our line of “Emergency Editions” to include plays, performance work, and other items of interest in these times of general melt-down and emerging Emergency. Submission procedures will be the same as for our other Ahadada productions.

It’s Not Quite time to Wish Everyone a Happy Yule in These Troubling Times.
December 16th, 2008 by Jesse Glass

But I’ll do it anyway at the risk of repeating myself in a very few days. Merry X’mas to friends, well-wishers, no-wishers and ill-wishers. (At this point in the game we’ve learned not to be too picky!). Hope you all find what you want under the tree or beside the futon, or in or under the bed, or in a bottle or between paper or cardboard-enforced hand-tooled leather bindings, or on the screen whether it’s on or off or about to boot up, in short–wherever you might seek your happiness we hope you find it! Jess

Mark Spitzer’s Demon Tools Properly Reviewed in Rain Taxi! (Thanks!)
December 16th, 2008 by Jesse Glass

Happy to say that Mark’s great book has been reviewed in the print edition of Rain Taxi. We haven’t seen a copy of the review (hope to rectify that soon), but we’re certain we’ll find it penetrating, illuminating, and all those other superlatives. Congrats to Mark and thanks to the Rain Taxi drivers that be. Jess
